Project Manager, Warehouse Storage Systems

Remote (Midwest / Ohio Preferred) Full-Time Project Management

We're looking for a project manager to own warehouse storage installations from award through closeout. You'll coordinate drawings, permits, material deliveries, and install crews on pallet racking, mezzanine, and shelving projects across the country. This is a remote role, and we'd prefer someone based in the Midwest or Ohio so you're close to a large share of our project work. You should be proficient in AutoCAD and experienced with warehouse racking systems. Send your resume to info@hammerheadws.com.

What You'll Do

  • Own assigned projects end to end, from handoff by sales through final walkthrough and closeout
  • Coordinate layout drawings, engineering, and permit submittals with our design and permitting resources
  • Build and maintain project schedules, then hold vendors, freight, and install crews to them
  • Manage material procurement and delivery timing so crews aren't waiting on steel
  • Serve as the customer's main point of contact for status, scope changes, and site logistics
  • Visit job sites at key milestones to verify install quality, safety compliance, and progress against the drawings
  • Track project costs, write change orders, and flag margin risk early
  • Close out projects with as-built documentation, load capacity plaques, and inspection records

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years managing installation, construction, or material handling projects
  • Experience with warehouse racking systems
  • Ability to read and interpret layout drawings, structural plans, and engineering specs
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, freight, and field crews on a schedule
  • Strong written and verbal communication with customers and internal teams
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote role with regular travel to job sites
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel roughly 25 to 40 percent of the time

Nice to Have

  • Background in mezzanines and shelving systems
  • Familiarity with local permitting and plan review processes for storage racks
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with RMI/ANSI MH16.1 rack standards and seismic requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Travel and expense reimbursement
  • Direct access to leadership and real ownership of your projects
