The Project

Selective pallet racking for a fine art storage 3PL in Vernon, CA, in a newly acquired building with a concrete slab only four inches thick. After other vendors could not solve the anchoring problem, Hammerhead engineered a screw-anchor solution, secured city approval, and installed 2,200 pallet positions, keeping the customer in the building they had just bought.

The Challenge

The customer acquired a new building and discovered the concrete slab was only four inches thick, too thin for conventional rack anchoring. Other vendors could not come up with a workable solution, leaving the customer facing the prospect of finding a different building for its art storage operation.

The Outcome

Hammerhead provided the full racking package and solved the slab problem with screw anchors suited to the thin slab, securing city approval for the design. The installation delivered 2,200 pallet positions of selective racking and finished ahead of schedule, saving the customer from having to relocate the operation.
