The Project
Seismic selective pallet rack replacement for a water storage facility in Redlands, CA, a high-seismic region. Hammerhead tore out the existing system, supplied new seismic-rated racking engineered to code, tightened the aisles, and added vertical storage to increase capacity by about 25%, all without interrupting the customer's warehouse operations.
The Challenge
A fire inspector flagged the facility's existing rack base plates as out of code for the high-seismic region and required them replaced. The layout was also inefficient, running aisles wider than the equipment needed and not storing enough levels high to make full use of the building.
The Outcome
Hammerhead removed the existing system and installed new seismic-rated selective pallet racking engineered to meet code, then tightened the aisles and added height to raise capacity by roughly 25% in the same footprint. The tear-down and reinstallation were sequenced so the customer's operations kept running, and the signed, approved permit was received the day the work was completed.
