Drive-In and Selective Racking for Beverage Distributor

The Project

Drive-in and selective pallet rack project for a beverage distributor in Commerce, CA, expanding a 100,000 sq ft distribution center for a new product line. Hammerhead supplied a new structural racking system, relocated and upgraded the existing drive-in racking to meet code for heavier loads, and added another elevation, wrapping up two weeks ahead of schedule.

The Challenge

The distributor was launching a new beverage line and needed both additional storage and a relocation of its existing drive-in racking. When the current system was re-installed, city inspectors found it was no longer rated for the heavier product weights and required a code-compliant upgrade before they would sign off.

The Outcome

Hammerhead provided a new structural racking system, brought the existing drive-in system up to code, and added an additional elevation to the layout. The expansion delivered roughly 2,000 more pallet positions for about 4,000 total, passed city inspection, and finished two weeks early, letting the customer load the racks ahead of schedule.
